Check Sound and Picture as Separate Parts of Playback

A visible picture does not tell you which audio output the device is using.

Check the intended output

Look at volume and mute controls on the device and any connected sound equipment. Confirm whether audio should come from TV speakers, a soundbar, headphones or another output. A previously connected accessory may still be selected. Use the manufacturer’s instructions when output names or controls are unfamiliar.

Make a useful comparison

Try another ordinary source you already know works with the same equipment. Keep the physical connections unchanged and note the result. If sound is absent there too, say so. This comparison helps describe the scope; it does not by itself prove which component is responsible.

Review only the relevant player controls

Check the player’s normal volume, mute and audio selection controls where available. Follow its official documentation rather than changing several advanced settings at once. Record each change and restore the prior setting if it does not help. Support for particular audio features varies by app and equipment.

Describe the complete path

Tell support which device runs the player and where you expect to hear sound. Include the app version and comparison result. For example, distinguish working TV speakers from silent external speakers. If the picture also pauses, add the observations from the playback guide.
